Committees
- Rehabilitation Committee consists of at least one board member as chair, other board and / or member participants whose purpose is to monitor Medicare and Medicaid policies and regulations as they relate to Rehabilitation services. Committee will maintain a dialogue with New York State Department of Health and CMS with the purpose to clarify payer policy and participate in industry sound improvements.
(Meets the 2nd Thursday of month at 1:00 PM via conference call)
- Respiratory / Medical Supplies: consists of at least one board member as chair, other board and / or member participants whose purpose is to monitor Medicare and Medicaid policies and regulations as they relate to Respiratory / Medical Supplies services. Committee will maintain a dialogue with New York State Department of Health and CMS with the purpose to clarify payer policy and participate in industry sound improvements.
(Meets the 3rd Wednesday of month at 2:00 PM via conference call)
- Annual Meeting Committee consists of at least one board member as chair, other board and/or member participants. This committee steers, organizes and formalizes NYMEP annual meetings in accordance with industry concerns, member needs and provider interests. They work to ensure a rewarding, positive setting for participants to network, learn and share their ideas of how to better enhance the HME industry.
(Meets the 2nd Friday of month at 8:30 AM via conference call)
- Governmental Relations Committee consists of at least one board member as chair, other board and/or member participants. They have designed the licensure bill for Home Medical Equipment Suppliers and will continue to work toward education of the community, legislators and members once the law is implemented. This committee also monitors and provides strategy on other state and federal legislative issues.
(Open call - 1st Thursday of month at 10:00 AM via conference call)
- Membership Committee consists of at least one board member as chair, other board and member participants. The committee works to identify future member benefits, maintain present member benefits and encourage providers to join or continue participation in the association.
(Meets as Needed)
- Educational Committee consists of at least one board member as chair, other board and member participants. The committee works to provide education events throughout the calendar year. Education sessions in a variety of modalities including teleconferencing and in person sessions.

- Nominating Committee is chaired by the immediate past president. This committee presents candidates for Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Directors for the following term.
